European Central Bank

The European Central Bank (ECB) is a central bank commissioned by the European Union to supervise the euro. The bank defines euro monetary policy, holds the foreign currency reserves of euro-zone countries and supervises the operation of payment systems.

The central banks of countries which participate in the Eurozone have representative influence within the ECB, and can influence ECB policy.
