When I received a replacement for my debit card the new card had contactless built in. I did not ask for that, and I do not use it. Worse yet, my teenage son has - on more than one occasion - appropriated my card and used it to pay for all kinds of stuff because he doesn't need any PIN.

Can I get a regular debit card without contactless? How do I get rid of this unwanted gift?

Hi there,

Your bank can deactivate the NFC (contactless) function on your debit card at your request. Unfortunately, this normally cannot be done via online banking. Just contact your bank by phone or visit your nearest bank branch in person to have them deactivate NFC.

Best regards from Moneyguru
