Are innoculations covered by Swiss health insurance? If so, are they covered in full or just partly?

Greetings,

Swiss compulsory health insurance covers the cost of a limited number of innoculations (the deductible and coinsurance apply). Innoculations which are covered by basic health insurance include those against tetanus, chickenpox, polio, hepatitis B, encephalitis, flu (only for people in high-risk groups). You can find a full list of covered innoculations on the website of the Federal Office for Public Health (FOPH).

If you want to vaccinate yourself against an illness which is not listed by the FOPH, you may be able to get part of the cost covered by a supplemental insurance policy. Most health insurance providers only cover a certain percentage of the cost (between 50% and 90%) of innoculations and only up to certain limits (typically between 200 and 1000 francs).

You can easily find the policies which provide the highest coverage for vaccinations by using the filter and sort tools in the moneyland.ch supplemental health insurance comparison.
