Dear forum,

Does my Swiss car liability insurance also pay for damages to my car? Do I have to get some other insurance for that?

Thanks

Hi there,

Liability car insurance does not cover damages to your own car. This insurance covers the cost of damages inflicted by your car on third parties when you cause an accident. Injuries to other people and damages to other people's cars or property are covered.

If you want coverage for damages to your car, you need to take out collision car insurance (for accidents on the road) or comprehensive car insurance (for damages caused by natural hazards, vandalism, etc.).

Best regards from Moneyguru
