IKO Swiss Credit Bureau

The Informationsstelle für Konsumkredit or IKO is a Swiss credit bureau. This bureau was established by the Swiss Consumer Credit Act. It records ongoing loan and lease agreements in its database. These entries are removed from the database at the end of the loan term.

The IKO provides its members – Swiss lending institutions – with information that can help them determine the amount of debt which loan applicants are servicing at the time of application.

This information is necessary in order for lenders to avoid providing loans to individuals who cannot afford to service more debt.

All Residents of Switzerland are entitled to obtain a copy of their IKO report upon request.
