The Bahrain Bourse is Bahrain’s primary stock exchange. The exchange lists a number of securities, including stocks, bonds, sukuk (Islamic bonds), mutual funds, real estate investment trusts (REITs) and treasury bills (government bonds).
More than 40 companies are listed on the Bahrain Bourse, which has a total market capitalization of US$ 19 billion. Trades on the exchange are brokered by around a dozen financial services companies, which act as market participants. Custodian banks include Standard Chartered, HSBC and Citibank, among others.
Indexes which track the Bahrain Bourse include the Bahrain All Share Index and the Bahrain Islamic Index.
