Private Equity Firm

A private equity firm is an asset management service provider which manages investments in private equity on behalf of investors.

Private equity firms buy equity in non-public companies, which receive venture capital or growth capital from the firm in exchange. The aim of private equity firms is to increase the value of the company in order to sell their equity at a profit.

Switzerland hosts numerous private equity firms. The Swiss Private Equity and Corporate Finance Association (SECA) represents the interests of many private equity firms domiciled in Switzerland.
