With a market share of 16 percent, Salt is the third-largest Swiss mobile service provider after Swisscom and Sunrise. Up until 2015, Salt operated under the Orange brand and was owned by French businessman Xavier Niel. Salt has its own mobile network.
Since 2018, Salt has also offered optical fiber landline and broadband connections. Salt leases the optical fiber networks from power companies. Salt offers its services under the Salt brand and also markets its services under the Das ABO and Das PREPAY brands.
