In business, the term amalgamation denotes the combination of two or more entities which results in the creation of an entirely new entity.

In business, amalgamation refers to the merger of two companies to form a new company.

The merger of Swiss engineering firm Brown, Boveri & Cie. with Swedish engineering firm ASEA which resulted in the creation of ABB is an example of amalgamation.
