Appropriation Request

In finance, the terms appropriation request and capital appropriation request denote a formal request for investment capital. Typically, an appropriation request is an internal request from a company division to the company’s management, board or treasury department.

When an appropriation request is approved by the responsible body, the company must add the allotted amount of money to its budget. A sum of money which is allotted to expenses detailed in an appropriation request is known as an appropriation.
