Close Price

In trading, the terms close price, closing price and daily close refer to the price of a security or other asset at the end of trading hours on a trading day.

The closing price is the price at which the last trade of a specific asset is transacted before the trading day closes.

When an asset is traded on one exchange only, the closing price is the price at which the last transaction is made before the exchange closes for the day. When assets are traded on multiple exchanges, the closing price is the price at which the last trade in that asset on any of the exchanges on which it is traded is transacted.

The difference between the open price and the close price of a security on a trading day makes up the daily price change.
