Trading Day

A trading day is a period of time made up of the opening hours of a stock exchange on a given day. All transactions on a stock exchange must be initiated during the trading day.

The opening hours of stock exchanges – and their subsequent trading days – vary between exchanges. However, trading days generally fall under either the North American session, the European session or the Asian session.
