Standard coverage
General
Worldwide coverage.
Private individuals are insured. Within the scope of individual insurance: the policyholder. Within the scope of household insurance: the policyholder and those persons who living permanently with him/her in the same household. Additionally: children in education and minor children of these persons, even if they do not live in the same household.
Stamp taxes of 5 percent included.
Choice of legal representation: the insurance company has the right to reject a lawyer proposed by the insured person. The insured person may then propose three lawyers from different law firms in the relevant jurisdiction, from which the insurance company can select the lawyer to be appointed.
The insurer can terminate the contract: 1 month before the payment of the premiums is due.
The contract can be terminated by the policyholder at any time with immediate effect.
Minimum contract duration: 1 year. The contract will automatically renew for another year unless termination notice is given.
The insurance coverage will be granted if the legal case arose after a waiting period of 3 months after the commencement of the insurance.
The waiting period does not apply in the case of prior insurance of the same risk and seamless transfer in terms of time.
The waiting period for disputes arising from the purchase/sale of real estate is 1 year.
No minimum amount in dispute.
Special coverage: Property law, expropriation law, tax law, copyright law, trademark law and naming rights.
Exclusions (examples): If the driver was not authorized to drive the vehicle. When acquiring or re-acquiring a driver’s license.
Legal advisory protection up to a maximum of CHF 1500 per calendar year (maximum one advice). The claim is valid once per case.
Covering the costs of mediation and loss of income.
Coverage of travel expenses and translation in case of disputes abroad.
