Costa Rica Stock Exchange (BNV)

The Bolsa Nacional de Valores was founded in 1970 and is the only major stock exchange in Costa Rica. The stocks of around 50 companies are listed on the exchange, which facilitates trades in shares, investment funds, structured products, and debt securities (bonds, for example).

The exchange also operates an alternative exchange (MAPA) for investment in small and medium-size enterprises. The BNV is a member of the Federación Iberoamericana de Bolsa (FIAB), an association of stock exchanges in Europe and the Americas.

The Costa Rica Stock Market Index tracks the performance of stocks listed on the exchange.

Trading hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT (UTC-6)
