The Dhaka Stock Exchange is one of two securities exchanges in Bangladesh, along with the Chittagong Stock Exchange. The Dhaka Stock Exchange was originally founded as the East Pakistan Stock Exchange in 1954. Trades on the exchange are performed electronically.
More than 300 companies are listed on the exchange. Securities listed include stocks, corporate bonds, treasury bonds, debentures and mutual funds. Stock transaction settlements work on a T+2 or T+9 settlement cycle, depending on the category of the stocks being traded.
