I receive premium reduction subsidies from the canton towards my mandatory health insurance. Can I deduct the full health insurance premiums from my taxable income or only the portion which I pay after premium reductions?

Hi there,

You must declare compulsory health insurance premium reductions on your tax returns.

Only net premiums (insurance premiums as per your policy minus premium reductions) apply towards the insurance premium tax deduction.

Health insurance premium reductions must be listed in a separate field provided for that purpose.

Best regards from Moneyguru
