I am worried about how I will get to the money in my bank accounts if a stroke or accident leaves me unconscious or otherwise unable to perform basic tasks.

Can I create a power of attorney for my firend so that she can withdraw money to cover my expenses if I become incapacitated?

Hi there,

Typically, Swiss banks limit the actions which can be performed by power of attorney holders to certain tasks. These may include paying recurring bills or urgent expenses on behalf of the incapacitated person.

If you want to grant another person special privileges over you bank accounts in the event of your becoming incapacitated, you should discuss this with your bank.

Best regards from Moneyguru
