Hi there,

In Switzerland, trading normally involves two types of fees. Custody fees cover the cost of the management and safekeeping of securities. Transaction fees include brokerage fees and other costs related to transacting trades.

Both custody fees and transaction fees vary between brokers and custodian banks. When dealing with exchange traded funds (ETFs), fees vary depending on whether you use Swiss or foreign ETFs.

You can use the moneyland.ch broker comparison (Switzerland's leading comparison) to find brokers - including brokers which deal in ETFs traded in Switzerland (including those based on foreign indexes). Selecting the "Individual profile" lets you enter the exact amounts of transactions you expect to make through various investment vehicles.

Flat-rate fees for ETFs - like those offered by Swissquote and Strateo - are also accounted for in the comparison.

Best regards from Moneyguru
