Is it possible to change Swiss 3a retirement savings accounts just like other bank accounts, or are there limitations on this?
Although your 3a assets cannot be withdrawn until you reach the age of 59 (women) or 60 (men), you have every right to move your assets to another 3a account. Most banks require notice, as with normal savings accounts, and some charge account closure and transfer fees.
It is worth noting that the previous limitations on changing 3a accounts after reaching the age of 59 (women) or 60 (men) no longer apply. You can read more about this here:

That means that you are free to move your assets to the highest-yield account available right up until you withdraw your assets.
