Do mothers in Switzerland have the right to claim reduced work hours after the birth of their baby? I would like to cut back and work just 60% after my baby is born, but I do not see my company allowing that. Can I claim this reduction as a legal right?

The work hours stipulated in your current employment contract take precedence. If your employer agrees to a reduction in work hours, they can adapt your contract to match. If they do not agree, you can choose to continue working the hours stipulated by your employment contract or quit your job in keeping with the given notice periods. You do not have a right to adapt the contract without your employer's agreement.
