My first husband passed away more than 10 years ago and I have received a widows pension since then. I entered into a common law relationship with another man 2 years ago and lived with him until he passed away this year. Can I claim a second pension for my second partner?

Hi there,

In Switzerland a widow loses her claim to a widows pension when she remarries. If you do not remarry but simply live with a new life partner, you continue to receive a widows pension based on your late husband's retirement savings. You cannot receive a life partner pension on top of your widows pension.

Best regards from Moneyguru
