I have a fairly low salary but I want to get the maximum social security pension when I reach retirement age. Can I make up the difference in contributions between those deducted from my salary and the maximum monthly contributions allowed?

Unfortunately, you cannot make up the difference in contributions towards the maximum old age pension by making extra payments because social security contributions are based on your current income and personal wealth.

If you want to save additional money towards retirement, consider opening a 3a retirement account. You can compare interest rates and features using the moneyland.ch 3a savings account comparison.
