Things are looking pretty tight financially this year and I don't think I will be able to make my retirement savings contribution. Is this possible? Will my savings be affected?

Hi there,

3a retirement savings are private savings, so you are not obligated to contribute to these. If you have a 3a retirement account, you can deposit money into it (up to the annual 3a contribution limit) when you choose to but you are not obligated to set aside these savings.

However, if you have a 3a life insruance policy, you will normally have to continue paying premiums in order to keep your policy. In this case you must pay premiums regularly as stipulated in your insurance agreement.

Best regards from Moneyguru
