Due to major damages inflicted on our rental home by my teenage sons, I had to make a large number of claims on our liability insurance inside a short time span. Shortly afterward I received a letter from the insurance company letting me know that they were dropping me as a customer. Is that even legally possible? Can they even do that?

Household and liability insurance providers can legally terminate your policy if, based on claims you make, they ascertain that you pose a larger risk than allowed for in your original agreement. The terms and conditions of your policy outline the exact conditions of termination, but normally you get a 30 day notice period starting from the time your risk level changes.
