Can landlords in Switzerland change rental contracts without the approval of renters?
Hi there,
In Switzerland, landlords can make changes to rental agreements (raising the rent, for example). However, when a landlord makes any change to a rental agreement, they must provide the renter with an official notice. The renter has the right to dispute the changes at the arbitration office within 30 days of receiving the official notice. If the renter does not dispute the claim within 30 days, it is assumed that they consent to the changes, and the changes take effect.
