I read that in Switzerland it is possible to get special car insurance for high-speed driving. What exactly does this insurance cover? Does it even exist?

Hi there,

In some countries it is possible to take out special "racer policies". These are designed for drivers which enjoy recreational driving on specialized race tracks.

In Germany, for example, car insurance for high-speed driving is offered to Porsche drivers by Zurich Insurance.

Insurers in Switzerland do not offered policies of this type.

The terms "racer policy" and "high-speed driving insurance" should not be misinterpreted as representing insurance coverage for illegal driving activities. In Switzerland, driving at illegal speeds is deemed to be gross negligence. Damages resulting from illegal driving activities are not covered by car insurance, nor by other insurance policies.

Best regards from Moneyguru
