Whether or not you have to make a down payment depends on a number of different factors including your creditworthiness, the lease provider you use, the car in question and other factors.
But leasing a car without making a down payment is not automatically the better option. You still have to make monthly lease payments and these may be higher or require a longer lease term than if you did make a down payment. In many cases leasing a car without making a down payment works out more expensive than leasing a car with a down payment.
