Do I have to hire a specialized cleaning service to clean my apartment when I move out? What degree of perfection do Swiss landlords look for?
Hi there,
Although you are not required to hire a cleaning service to clean your rental home before moving out, you are required to hand over the property in a clean condition. You are free to undertake the cleaning yourself. If any part of the rental home is not cleaned to the landlord's satisfaction, they will normally give you the opportunity to clean it over again. Alternatively they may include cleaning tasks on the contract termination agreement. If you sign the agreement with the cleaning tasks listed, they can charge you for the cost of hiring a cleaning service.
