I thought that contactless payments did not require a PIN. Was I surprised when I was asked to enter a PIN when paying with the contactless function (I don't know my PIN by memory). Why would I have to type in a PIN?
Hi there,
Currently, PIN-free contactless payments are limited to 40 Swiss francs per purchase. This limit is in place to protect you from fraulent transactions if your card is stolen or otherwise misapropriated. You can make payments of up to 40 francs without entering your PIN. Larger payments require PIN authentication.
