I hear that pregnant women don't pay health insurance deductibles. Is that correct? During my pregnancy I have been suffering from all kinds of illness - not always related to pregnancy, but I am loath to go to the doctor because I have a 2500 franc deductible.

Hi there,

With regards to compulsory Swiss health insurance pregnant women are not required to cover a share of medical expenses as a deductible or coinsurance payments. This applies to all covered medical expenses and not only pregnancy-related costs.

Best regards from Moneyguru
