Hi there,

I will be retiring early (60 years old) and will begin receiving my pension. I have around 50k in a 3a savings account which I would like to keep there as long as possible. Do I need to close my 3a account when I retire?

Thank you for your help with this

Hi there,

If you retire early, you can keep your 3a savings account until your reach leagl retirement age, by which time you will need to cash out the account.

If you remain employed after reaching legal retirement age, you can keep your 3a retirement account for up to 5 years past legal retirement age as long as you remain employed during that time.

Best regards from Moneyguru
