I work for a Swiss employer which is soon to be fully acquired by a major multinational. What rights does Swiss law guarantee me as an employee of a company which is being bought up? Will I be able to keep my job and enjoy the same benefits which I do now?

Hi there,

In Switzerland, when a company with employees is acquired by another company, the acquiring company is required to uphold all employment contracts to which the target company is party. That means that employees retain their positions, salaries and benefits. The acquiring company also takes on a share of liability (for unpaid salaries, for example) from the target company.

Best regards from Moneyguru
