We love to entertain and always have guests over for dinner parties. We also have different friends visiting from home almost all the time. What happens when one of our guests damages our apartment or some other property during their stay? Are they covered by our insurance?

Liability for damages to third-party property falls on the person who inflicted the damage. Your personal liability insurance only covers your family (spouse, partner, children) and not your guests.
Swiss household insurance, on the other hand, covers the personal property of guests while it is in your home. You can read more about this here.
