I work in sales and earn a large part of my income as sales commissions and success-based bonuses. My worry is that if I were to become seriously ill, I might only receive sick leave benefits equal to my base salary. Does paid sick leave account for my entire income or just my base salary?

Yes. Your Swiss paid sick leave entitlements are based on the full salary which you would earn during the period of illness, including the average portion of your salary which is earned through commissions.
