My daughter just doused my macbook pro in coke zero and it is fried. I have personal liability and household insurance. Can I get the insurance to pay for a new laptop?

If your daughter is covered by the same household and liability insurance polcies which cover your property, your laptop would not normally be covered.
Personal liability insurance covers damages inflicted on the personal property of a third party by a person covered by the policy. Household insurance covers damages to your property due to theft, fire, flooding and other hazards. Neither of these insurances cover damages inflicted by a policyholder on personal property belonging to themselves or a joint policyholder.
