Since moving into our rented apartment I have noticed a lot of damages which I did not notice when I viewed the apartment before signing the contract. These damages were not included in the list of existing damages which accompanied our contract. What can I do to avoid being held liable for repairs of these existing damages?

Hi there,

If you rent a home which has existing faults or damages you can demand that your landlord either repairs the damages, reduces your rent in relation to the damages, provides financial compensation or ensures that a third-party which is liable to pay for repairs (a previous tenant, for example) does so.

Best regards from Moneyguru
