Hi, I am a student and will remain one for some time. Which Swiss health insurance would you recommend for students? Any tips?

Thanks all

Hi there,

Young adults tend to be healthier than older adults, and therefore require less medical care. If you rarely (if ever) visit a doctor or use medicine, you can save a lot of money on premiums by choosing the cheapest policy available (use the moneyland.ch health insurance comparison to find it) and selecting the highest possible deductible (2500 Swiss francs).

On the other hand, if you do require frequent medical care, you may want to consider a higher deductible and an insurance provider with a short reimbursement period for claim settlement. Also pay attention to customer satisfaction ratings (these are shown as stars in the comparison).

Important: If you have a low income - or none at all - you may be elgible for premium reductions. Taking advantage of these reductions can save you a lot of money.

If you want extra benefits like coverage for gym memberships, glasses and contact lenses, climbing centre memberships or travel, you can get these through a supplementary health insurance policy. You can filter and sort policies based on the perks they provide using the moneyland.ch supplementary health insurance comparison.

Best regards from Moneyguru
