My wife and I are getting a divorce and aside from the money in my 3a savings accounts we do not have many other assets. I have put the maximum amount into these accounts every year, so the amount is quite high because I have always been self-employed.

What part of my 3a retirement savings (if any) is my wife entitled to?

Hi there,

3a retirement savings are divided evenly between both spouses during a divorce. Exceptions may be made when both spouses agree not to divide 3a savings or when a marital agreement is in place which stipulates the separation of assets.

Best regards from Moneyguru
