I applied for life insurance around 10 days ago and stated that I was in perfect health, which was correct to my knowledge at the time. Today I tested positive for HIV. Do I have to inform the insurance company?

Hi there,

You are required to report any changes which affect your insurance status (health changes, for example) to insurance companies when these occur within 14 days of your applying for insurance coverage.

Once an insurance company has confirmed their acceptance of you as a policyholder, you are no longer required to report changes.

Best regards from Moneyguru
