Is there any way to get insurance for damage to my phones? They're pretty much the only thing I damage or other people damage and it's expensive to cough up 500 or 800 francs for a new phone each time.

Hi there,

When other people damage your mobile phone, they (or their personal liability insurance provider) are liable to pay for the damages.

If you accidentally damage your mobile phone, you will normally need special phone insurance to cover the cost of repairing or replacing it. However, you need to pay careful attention to the deductibles and benefits attached to each insurance policy before you apply. You can get an overview in this basic comparison of Swiss mobile phone insurance.

It is worth noting that some household insurance riders cover damages to mobile phones and if you have household insurance than it is worth reviewing your policy to find out if you have this coverage.

Best regards from Moneyguru
