I am a bit of a DIY enthusiast but now and then my projects go pear shaped and I am wondering if my Swiss liability insurance covers these self-made disasters. Any ideas?

Hi there,

Your personal liability insurance only covers damages which occur by accident. This includes unintentional damages resulting from rental home repairs or remodeling.

On the other If you deliberately damage part of your rental home, your insurance provider will not normally cover the cost of damages.

If you own your home, your personal liability insurance will not cover the costs of damages (even accidental damages) to your own property.

Best regards from Moneyguru
