Hi there,
Microfinance investment vehicles (MIVs) headquartered in Switzerland include BlueOrchard, responsAbility, and Symbiotics. All of these MIVs operate investment funds which invest primarily in microfinance.
BlueOrchard:
BlueOrchard Microfinance Fund
responsAbility:
responsAbility Micro and SME Finance Fund
responsAbility Fair Agriculture Fund
Symbiotics:
Symbiotics Sicav - Emerging Impact Bond Fund (EIBF)
The Regional MSME Investment Fund for Sub-Saharan Africa (REGMIFA)
Some of these funds are open to private investors, while others are only open to professional investors (asset managers, for example). If your broker does not deal with shares in these funds, your asset manager may be able to purchase fund shares on your behalf.
These funds primarily invest in microfinance in countries other than Switzerland. A number of other investment types, including peer to peer lending, can be used to finance small enterprises in Switzerland.
