The concept behind Bitgold is solid. You own physical gold which is held in a gold pool. Electronic purchases or sales of gold certificates are tracked and ownership records are changed automatically. This high level of automation allows gold to be bought and sold in any amount instantly, making it usable for everyday puchases.
The Bitgold app allows gold ownership to be transacted in any amount between its users. This app is developed by the Goldmoney Holding which manages gold pools in many countries, and can be used by Goldmoney customers. As with all financial services, there are fees and charges attached to transactions.
