We recently bought an apartment in Switzerland and the apartment building's commitee has begun billing us for a share of communal expenses related to the laundry room. The thing is, we have a built-in washing machine in our kitchen and don't use the laundry room.
Do we still need to pay for the laundry room if we don't use it?

Communal costs associated with an apartment building are generally divided up between apartment owners based on their co-ownership share. However, the apartment building's regulations may relieve co-owners of their obligation to contribute towards a communal expense if they do not benefit from it.
