I lost my Maestro card. How should I best proceed? Should I have the card frozen or just wait? Or is freezing a card only necessary for credit cards? I would have to pay a fee to have the debit card frozen, so am considering waiting instead...

Greetings,

Swiss banks generally require that you declare a lost or stolen payment card as soon as you realize that it is missing. It is also important to note that debit cards issued in Switzerland use NFC technology (contactless) which allows anyone who find the card to make unlimited purchases worth up to CHF 40 each.

Best regards from Moneyguru
