Is there a limit on how much money I can borrow in a single loan in Switzerland? I've heard conflicting opinions about this and would be grateful for a clarification.

Yes, there is a limit to the amount of money you can borrow through a personal loan. In order for a loan to be classified as a consumer loan and benefit from legal regulations for consumer loans, it cannot exceed 80,000 Swiss francs. Some lender place much lower limits on maximum loan amounts (40,000 francs, for example).

The personal loan comparison on moneyland.ch lets you enter the amount you want to borrow and limits results to loans which are available for that amount.
