Hi there,
Postfinance does not implement bank customer secrecy laws as strictly as other Swiss banks.
What this means is that Postfinance reserves the right to inform third parties about whether a person is a customer and to provide third parties with customers bank account numbers under certain circumstances. Postfinance is not allowed to provide information regarding the amount of assets held in a customer's accounts.
According to Postfinance, the reason for this exception is that Postfinance is obligated to provide basic financial services to all residents on behalf of the Swiss federal government.
