Have you ever mortgaged a home with PostFinance? How would you describe your customer experience? Would you recommend PostFinance mortgages to other homeowners?

Dear forum,

Does anyone have experience with Valuu from PostFinance?

Are the rates and conditions good? How do Valuu mortgages differ from other PostFinance mortgages?

Thanks

Valuu is a mobile app-based service which only works with newish iPhones and Android phones.

Valuu belongs to PostFinance. It is not a lender in itself, but rather a mortgage broker like Credaris (from Comparis), Moneypark, etc.

The service itself is free of charge. I imagine the business model is based on commissions paid by lenders for mortgages brokered. There isn’t really any clear information about how they earn their money on their website, so it isn’t really transparent.

A possible benefit of Valuu is that it is backed by PostFinance – which no doubt has a fat marketing budget. But the benefit is also a drawback, because as a subsidiary of a major bank, it is not really an unbiased mortgage broker, even if PostFinance claims to be unbiased.

On the Valuu website, Postfinance claims that more than 100 different mortgage offers are included and can be compared using Valuu. But when you use the app, you don’t find anywhere near that many offers.

One argument in favor of Valuu is the app itself, which has a nice polished feel to it. But it still takes some effort before you finally get to where you can see and compare mortgage offers.

Hope this helps

According to the newest issue of K-Geld, there are just 11 mortgage lenders which partner with Valuu. These include Credit Suisse, Berner Kantonalbank, the SBB Pensionskasse, and Bank SLM, among others.

According to K-Geld, PostFinance receives commissions from lenders when users successfully apply for mortgages through Valuu.

With so few partners included, the value in comparison to bigger mortgage brokers is small.
