Hi everyone, I am looking for a prepaid card. I'm 18. Any recommendations? If I can use the card to shop on credit that would be great too.

Hi there,

Most card issuers provide prepaid cards to those aged 18 and over. Unless you are looking for special benefits like travel insurance, you should primarily consider the costs of using a prepaid card. Costs to look out for include annual fees, loading fees, foreign transaction fees and cash advance fees.

Other fees that may apply include fees for paper statements (if you do not specify that you want to receive paper statements) and postal charges (if you load the card using postal deposit slips).

It is also worth considering the rewards which you earn by using a prepaid card.

The moneyland.ch credit card comparison clearly shows the costs of each card and provides unbiased ratings of card benefits. You can limit comparison results to show only prepaid card by selecting the "Prepaid" filter under "Card type".
