My partner and I both took money out of our pension savings to buy our house. A few years and a lot of curious events later we would like to sell the house. Are there any limitations on this with regards to the portion finananced with pension savings?

Hi there,

When you sell a home which was financed by and early withdrawal of occupational pension fund assets (Swiss pillar 2), you are required to return the money withdrawn to the second pillar unless you use the money to buy another primary residence within 2 years of the sale.

This can be done by placing the money in a vested benefits account. You can compare the interest paid out by Swiss vested benefits accounts using the moneyland.ch vested benefits account comparison.

Best regards from Moneyguru
